Sunshine Skyway Bridge  (click on photo for larger view)

The Sunshine Skyway Bridge is located South of St. Petersburg, Florida about ten miles.  The bridge runs from shore to shore about five miles and gives some of the most beautiful views one will find in Florida.

Sunshine Skyway Bridge

This is a view from the end of the North Pier looking East towards Manatee County and as the Skyway Bridge comes down, and heads South to Manatee.

Sunshine Skyway Bridge

A wide angle view of the Skyway Bridge from the North Pier. The Bridge starts South, and then raps a full 90 degrees heading East when it touches land in Manatee County.

Sunshine Skyway Bridge

This photo of the bridge was shot from the picnic area, from the south side.  Really a great view and a nice place to take the family.

Sunshine Skyway Bridge

There are two piers that run along side the Skyway Bridge, the South Pier is about 1.5 miles long, and the North Pier is about .5 miles long. Both were salvaged from the old bridge some years ago.

The photo was taken from the car as I drove North on the North Pier.

Sunshine Skyway Bridge

On the piers and around them is a favorite fishing place for most of the locals and tourist.  You can see the pelicans following the boats hoping for a freebee.

Sunshine Skyway Bridge

You can almost see the arrogance on his face.
