Chestnut Park

This is "Tarpon Lake" taken from the tower located at the South end of the Lake.  There is a "boardwalk" that runs from the tower along the lake for about one mile.  A great place for a walk, and there are shelters located along the way to set and relax, or to have a picnic.  No restrooms, however.  Along the way you will find an abundance of wildlife, and a dense swamp filled with beautiful vegetation.

The boat ramp at Chestnut Park.  This Photo was taken during a week day, because on the weekends it becomes "gridlock" filled with hundreds of boaters.

This is the "boardwalk" that runs along Tarpon Lake.  There are also little "offshoots" that end in a "pod" in a very dense area of the swamp.  Each "boardwalk" ends with a picnic table located in the "pod", with a great viewing area around it.  These "boardwalks" as shown in the photo are located throughout the park, and usually take you back into the swamp areas.

A great view of the North Beach at Caladesi Island Park.  As you can see I was all alone on this beautiful beach except for one Kayak.
