Honeymoon Island

Honeymoon Island located about 20 miles from Tampa on the Gulf of Mexico is a great place for families, singles, just about anyone.  One of my favorite places is the nature trail located at the North end of the Island on a small peninsula.

A bush of wild berries as we walk down the path to this beautiful inlet.

Across the way you can see the Gulf of Mexico and the other finger that shoots out on Honeymoon Island.  The other side has great beaches, and the further you walk out on the finger, the less people, and the better the beaches.

These dead old large pines are a great place for the Osprey to build their nests.  But notice the great trail that leads you around this peninsula.

Honeymoon Island

Honeymoon Island Nature trail runs for about three miles reaching the furthest end of the island and then wrapping back around to the beginning.  The walk takes you along secluded inlets to lonely paths where the Osprey hangs his hat in the tree tops of the old large dead pines.

Near the end of the peninsula of the nature trail, I just love this shoreline as you look out onto the Gulf of Mexico.  You can see the trail on the right as it continues to the end of the peninsula.
