Boca Ciega Bay  (click on image for larger view)

Apartment buildings setting across the bay on East Indian Shores.  Just on the other side of the apartments is the Gulf of Mexico.

Boca Ciega Bay

Looking at the north end of the bay with its abundance of trees and foliage lining the shoreline.  This area on the East side of the Bay is Seminole, and close by is Lake Seminole Park.

Boca Ciega Bay

You can almost put yourself in the canoe with these two fishermen.  Such a great serene shot of the South end of the Bay.  In the distance is Redington Shores and beach area.

Boca Ciega Bay

The South boardwalk from the tower overlooking the South Bay area.  What a great walk down the boardwalk and around into the South swamp area. A lot of wildlife on both sides of your walk, and make sure you take a towel and some water for the heat-humidity just surrounds and overwhelms you.

Boca Ciega Bay

Boca Ciega Bay is a favorite spot on the weekends for boating, fishing, and just getting out.  The little island top left is Travatine Island.  Just to the left of the Island is a waterway called the "Narrows" that runs for miles up the coast.

Boca Ciega Bay

This gives a wide angle view of the bay with its serene, pleasant look. Normally it's very quiet and serene during the week and makes for a spiritual visit.

Boca Ciega Bay

Looking North on the Bay you can see the boardwalk that runs  to the North from the tower, but also it runs South. The walk down these great boardwalks is a real pleasure with wildlife on both sides of the boardwalk and views that cleanses the soul.   There are also nature trails throughout the park, long with shelters, and restrooms.

The little Travatine Island setting out in the middle of the bay really sets the scene.  During the weekend when the Bay is filled with sailboats it becomes a beautiful site.  You can see part of the Bay tower sticking out.  The tower has resting places to sit and view the great sites around you on each level.
